Sorry for the delay but I wanted to get out our October agenda for those that could not make the meeting last Wed. The agenda has all the upcoming dates listed so you can Save the Dates. A few updates for those of you at the meeting:
Veteran’s Day - we have Danielle Wilson coordinating the event at Stonebridge this year but no one as of now interested in being at the township event on the 11th. We would LOVE to have some girl scouts at this event. PLEASE email me or Kirsten Otken if you are interested.
Spring Campfire/Younger Girl Bridging -> NEW DATE is Saturday May 5th, NOT Friday, May 4th.
Help needed ->We are still looking for a troop/troops to run Younger Girl Camporee and Older Girl Awards/Bridging -> PLEASE consider this and contact myself or Kirsten Otken if you can help out
Scholarship Committee --NEEDS a few leaders OR parents to be committee members. This is a very minimal commitment, we are hoping to have one person per girl scout level on the committee. Please let me know if you are interested or just want more information on this committee.
Ideas for replenishing the SU bank account -> we have decided at the meeting that a $1.00 ‘surcharge’ will be added to any events/fundraisers within Girl Scouts. For example, the troop selling spirit wear is adding in $1.00 on each item sold. As a background, the ‘building community’ campfires that we are offering in the fall and spring cost the SU roughly $400 each for the park fees, fire permit and food, charcoal, etc that the SU buys. We would like to continue offering at least one of these as a community event for no cost, however, we may decide that the spring campfire will have a minimal cost attached just to cover some of our costs.
