Volunteer High School Scouts June 25 - Drumthwacket Spring Carnival |
The Drumthwacket Foundation hosts an annual Spring Carnival(https://drumthwacket.org/spring-carnival/) for special needs children at Drumthwacket, the Governor's residence in Princeton. The participants are children ages 4-12 and their immediate families from across the State of New Jersey. We are expecting around 500 people to attend. There will be fun activities for the children during the afternoon: bounce houses, arts and crafts, food trucks, soccer relays, tours of the Governor's house, and a candy treasure hunt on the back lawn.

Volunteer High School Scouts June 18 - USS New Jersey Subfest |
On June 18th the Montgomery News is sponsoring a huge event to raise money for scholarships for the children of Navy members and to celebrate the USS New Jersey(among other things)- the newest Submarine to join the US fleet soon.
The event will be held at the Princeton Airport.
The PCU-796 Virginia class submarine will be the third naval vessel named after the great state of New Jersey. The Virginia class is a type of nuclear-powered, fast-attack submarine capable of remaining submerged for up to 3 months at a time.
Net proceeds from the event will go towards scholarships for the children of our Navy members, quality of life improvements for crewmen, as well as commissioning celebrations.
While Girl Scouts are not allowed to raise money for another organization, they can volunteer at various stations like registrations among other things. Please reach out to Cory Wingerter at cgwingerter@gmail.com for more information.
